Important Update: Citywide Vegetation Management for Wildfire Safety

Posted By on December 11, 2025

Dear Alterra Residents,

The City of Chino Hills has launched an expanded vegetation management program in City-owned open space to help reduce wildfire risk and enhance overall community safety. This work goes beyond the City’s standard annual weed abatement and is part of a multi-year effort coordinated with the Chino Valley Fire District.

Because much of Chino Hills is designated as a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, the City is required to complete additional fuel-reduction measures under updated state and local fire safety regulations. As this work progresses, you may see City crews or contractors clearing brush, thinning overgrown areas, and removing fire-prone vegetation near open space adjacent to homes. These efforts are focused on reducing hazardous undergrowth while preserving healthy trees whenever possible.

We encourage all residents to learn more about this important safety initiative. Details, maps, and ongoing updates can be found on the City’s website at: https://page.alertsense.com/content/2255/117845

Thank you!
